Most of the early work is now done in KatchTV: basic features, proof of concept, ironing out bugs, some niceties, etc. Essentially. 1.x is done, and development is moving to 2.x.
That ties in nicely with the release of KDE 4. KDE 4 has brought a lot of new technology, including Phonon, for multimedia playback, a syndication library for processing feeds, and a very cool ontology system which can be used for tagging, dynamically generated lists of items, etc.
I'm hoping to use all of these features in KatchTV 2, for very strong KDE integration, and features not available on any other platform.
